Day 28 - Kazakhstan flag - July 7

From Kostanai to Qarabutaq

Today we’ve left Kostanai at 08.30, a little tired as the night before we have reached the hotel by 10pm, then after a shower and dinner it was far past midnight.  The morning was delicious, the perfect conditions to ride a bike, dry, cool air and sunny. On the road we’ve seen huge fields of Barley and for the first time in Kazakhstan also Sunflowers.

Around noon we’ve reached a little town with a nice small river ideal to swim, the decision was quickly made to stop for recharging, swimming and of course a quick lunch.  The temperature arose very quickly, it was  38°C, although it is a good condition for batteries performances, it is exactly the opposite for recharging, in fact the higher the temperature the longer the charging time .  At 2.30 we started again, we have to ride another 300km to reach Komsomol. Around 5 pm we stopped in a small Café on the road where we’ve found delicious bread just made and some cool soda to freshen up. in the meantime we have charged a little bit in order to ride the last 130km where we have arrived at 9pm, exhausted but happy as the target to break the World Record is getting closer.  Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventure!
